What makes a dog seatbelt CERTIFIED?
Dog seatbelts certified by Center for Pet Safety (CPS) have gone through a rigorous process. These seatbelts have met top quality standards designed to keep your pup safe in case of a car crash.
Center for Pet Safety is an independent organization made for dog parents by a dog parent, who was horrified at how just a sudden brake on the highway caused her pup to become injured, tangled up in the seatbelt that was supposed to protect her.
CPS certification is not required, but brands that have sought and obtained certification have created an incredible product that is made with your dog’s safety in mind. Only 6 brands have passed the test. Many have failed, don’t even meet quality standards to be tested, or have not yet sought certification.
The words “crash tested” on a box doesn’t mean that a product has actually passed crash testing. So when you’re looking for a seatbelt for your pup, make sure you only buy certified!
